Privacy Policy

Template updated for the delivered demo project. Have U.S. privacy counsel review it before launch.

Effective date: July 31, 2026

This policy is a launch-ready structural template, not legal advice. Replace placeholders and describe your real providers, cookies, retention periods, and business practices before publishing.

1. Information we collect

We may collect information you submit, such as search inputs, account details, support messages, billing information handled by a payment processor, and privacy-request details. We may also collect device, browser, log, cookie, referral, and usage data.

2. Public-record and provider data

In production, search results may be supplied by third-party public-record, identity, telephone, property, court, or data-aggregation providers. This website should disclose each material provider category and contractually restrict unlawful use.

3. How information is used

Information may be used to provide searches, process payments, maintain accounts, prevent fraud, secure the service, answer support requests, process privacy rights, improve performance, and comply with law.

4. How information is disclosed

Information may be disclosed to hosting, analytics, security, payment, customer-support, search-data, and legal-service providers; to authorities when legally required; or during a corporate transaction. Do not claim that data is never sold or shared unless that statement is true for every provider and advertising workflow.

5. Cookies and analytics

Describe every analytics, advertising, session, fraud-prevention, and preference cookie used in production. Provide consent controls where required and honor Global Privacy Control where applicable.

6. Data retention

Keep data only as long as reasonably necessary for the stated purpose, legal obligations, security, disputes, and enforcement. Set specific retention schedules for search logs, customer records, payment references, support tickets, and privacy requests.

7. Security

Use encryption in transit, secure password hashing, least-privilege access, logging, backups, vulnerability management, and incident-response procedures. No system can guarantee absolute security.

8. Your privacy choices

Depending on location, users may have rights to access, correct, delete, limit, opt out of sale or sharing, and appeal a request decision. Links to removal and do-not-sell/share request forms appear in the footer.

9. Children

The service is not intended for children under 18, and accounts or searches should not knowingly be marketed to them.

10. International use

The search tools are intended for U.S.-focused data. International visitors should be told where data is processed and what transfer safeguards apply.

11. Changes

Material changes should be posted with a revised effective date and, where required, additional notice or consent.

12. Contact

Privacy questions may be sent to privacy@usbackgroundcheck.online.
